Mom’s Nipple Bitten Off During Breastfeeding by 15-Month-Old Son

Rebecca Conklin, 22, was nursing her toddler to sleep when she suddenly noticed blood on his chin. To her shock, she realized he had bitten off part of her nipple, which she described as “hanging on.”

She rushed to the ER after her OB-GYN advised immediate care, but doctors explained there wasn’t much they could do besides offering pads and ointment, as the wound would heal like a scab. That day, she also decided it was time to stop breastfeeding.

“The strangest part was, I felt no pain,” Rebecca said. “But with 12 sharp teeth, it was bound to happen.”

Concerned about the future, she asked doctors if this would affect breastfeeding later children. They reassured her she’d likely heal fully.

Sharing her ordeal on TikTok, Rebecca’s video quickly went viral, sparking both fear and support among moms. Despite criticism, she received overwhelming encouragement and leaned on her online community for strength.

Reflecting on the experience, Rebecca says it made her realize how resilient she is. “I stayed calm, even joked about it. Breastfeeding is still magical to me — it’s what helped me bond with my son, and I’d do it again.”
