When summer temperatures hit unbearable levels, most people ditch heavy clothes for something cooler. But at Longhill High School in Brighton, England, male students weren’t allowed to wear shorts — no matter how hot it got.
Four 14-year-old friends — Michael Parks, Kodi Ailing, George Boyland, and Jesse Stringer — decided they’d had enough. After being sent home for showing up in shorts, the boys returned with a genius twist: they came back wearing skirts.

Teachers were shocked, but since skirts were officially part of the school’s approved uniform, there was nothing they could do. The boys kept their skirts on all week — and instantly became local heroes.

As Principal Kate Williams later explained, “Students can choose to wear any part of the agreed school uniform.”
Looks like these boys found the coolest loophole of the summer!
