I was driving past my brother’s house and decided to stop by for a visit, but I saw my wife’s car at the entrance. I slowly walked up to the window to see what they were doing there and was horrified.

I was returning home after a long day at work when I spotted a familiar house—my brother’s. It had been a while, and it was on the way, I thought. I decided to stop by, just to chat, have coffee, like I used to.

But as soon as I pulled up to the gate, I noticed a car parked in front of his house. My heart sank. It was my wife’s car.

I didn’t even check the license plate right away—I just stood there and stared, incredulous.

At first, I tried to convince myself it was all a coincidence: maybe she just dropped by to drop something off, maybe she had other things to do. But the longer I stood there, the faster my heart pounded.

I decided to find out everything from my wife, took out my phone and dialed her number.

-Hello, where are you?

“Hi,” she replied calmly, “I’m at a friend’s. We’ll hang out for a bit, then I’ll go home. Don’t be bored, I’ll be back in an hour.”

“At a friend’s?” I asked again, trying to keep my voice steady.

“Yes, everything is fine.” And the call ended.

I stood in front of my brother’s house and didn’t know what to think. If she’d just come on business, why lie about being a friend? Something inside told me: she was here for a reason. I had to find out.

I walked closer, trying not to make any noise. A warm light was shining in the window. I peered inside, and what I saw shocked me. 😨😱

My wife was sitting on the couch, her face covered in tears, her eyes red. Her brother was next to her, quietly holding her hand and saying something soothing.

“I can’t hide this from him anymore,” she said through tears. “It’s wrong. The child isn’t his… He could find out at any moment.”

The brother leaned closer and said quietly but clearly:

“You must remain silent. Otherwise, you will ruin his life, your marriage, and our relationship forever.”

My head started spinning, my heart started pounding so hard it was hard to breathe. I don’t remember how I went to the window and knocked.

They are both shuddered. The wife turned pale, the brother froze, as if he had seen a ghost.

We looked at each other through the glass, three people connected by a lie no one wanted to talk about.

And now I don’t know how to live on, how to forgive them.
