Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott Finalize Divorce Two Years After Split

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott have officially finalized their divorce, two years after ending their 18-year marriage.

According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Weekly, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star and the Due South actor reached a settlement in late October, filing the paperwork Monday in Los Angeles. Spelling requested both spousal and child support, and the filing indicates the divorce is “uncontested,” with a written agreement to be submitted to the court.

Representatives for both stars did not immediately comment.

Spelling initiated divorce proceedings in March 2024, citing June 17, 2023, as the separation date — the same day McDermott announced their breakup in a since-deleted Instagram post after nearly two decades together and five children. “We will continue to co-parent lovingly,” he wrote at the time.

The two first met in 2005 while filming Mind Over Murder and married the following year in Fiji. They later shared the screen in multiple projects, including their reality series True Tori.

Spelling previously revealed on her MisSpelling podcast that she had not informed McDermott of the filing beforehand, saying she only contacted him once it became public. She described their early years as a whirlwind romance, but said their relationship changed significantly after they became parents. Spelling admitted she grew focused on raising their children and felt the burden of the marriage shift — while also acknowledging the challenges McDermott faced with sobriety, adding that she is grateful he is now on a healthier path.
