The engagement was confirmed to CNN by a spokesperson for Trump Jr. and was publicly revealed Monday evening during a festive White House holiday gathering hosted by the president himself.
The surprise announcement instantly drew widespread attention, reviving interest in a relationship that had already been the subject of intense tabloid speculation throughout the president’s recent election campaign. While the couple had largely kept their romance out of the spotlight, their engagement placed them squarely at the center of public conversation.
Trump Jr.’s romantic history has been well documented. He was previously married to Vanessa Trump, whom he proposed to in 2004. The pair wed in 2005 at the family’s Mar-a-Lago estate and went on to have five children together before Vanessa filed for divorce in 2018. Following that marriage, Trump Jr. became engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host who later played a prominent role in Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign as its finance chair.
Although that engagement ended, Guilfoyle has remained close to the Trump family. Amid ongoing rumors about Trump Jr.’s relationship with Anderson, then president-elect Donald Trump appointed Guilfoyle as the U.S. ambassador to Greece, a position she currently holds.
Trump Jr. and Anderson made their first notable public appearance together earlier this year during a Trump family visit to Scotland. The couple joined the president for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at a newly opened golf course, as well as an announcement related to a trade agreement.
Anderson, known for her tongue-in-cheek social media presence, humorously describes herself on Instagram as a “stay-at-home mom” — despite noting she has no husband, children, or household duties. During the White House announcement, Trump Jr. joked that he was rarely speechless but expressed heartfelt gratitude to Anderson for saying “yes.” His spokesperson later confirmed that the proposal took place over the weekend.
