The Duchess of Sussex has put her “Forever Valentines” in the spotlight on her Instagram account.
Meghan Markle , who usually doesn’t show her children’s faces on social media, made an exception. On Saturday, February 14, Valentine’s Day, the Duchess of Sussex shared a photo of her family with her followers, taken at sunset, presumably in the gardens of their Montecito, California, home. Prince Harry is seen holding their daughter Lilibet . The four-year-old, her face slightly turned towards the camera and dressed head-to-toe in pink, holds a bouquet of red balloons. “These two + Archie = my Valentines forever,” the former actress wrote, also mentioning their six-year-old son, who is not in the photo.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated Valentine’s Day a little early. The couple was spotted on Friday, January 13th, outside Funke’s restaurant in Beverly Hills, California. The Duchess, her hair pulled back in a tight bun, opted for satin trousers and a loose-fitting brown quilted jacket. Her husband, equally casual, wore jeans, a shirt, and his ever-present black puffer jacket. As evidenced by photos published by People , the couple left the restaurant all smiles. It seems the menu, created by chef Evan Funke, is to their liking, as they also celebrated the Duchess’s 44th birthday there in August 2025.
Meghan Markle, a fan of Valentine’s Day
Last year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated Valentine’s Day separately. The prince was in Canada for the Invictus Games, the sporting competition he founded for veterans and wounded soldiers. “Back home taking care of our babies, missing my Valentine,” the former actress wrote that day. She had only spent a few days with him in Vancouver before heading back to California to be with their children.

Meghan Markle particularly loves this time of year, which she makes a point of celebrating every year. “I think you should be your own Valentine,” she philosophized on her now-defunct blog, The Tig. “I think you should prepare that beautiful dinner even if you’re alone, wear your favorite outfit, buy yourself flowers, and celebrate the self-love that often gets blurred when we focus on what we don’t have.” At the end of January, the Duchess of Sussex announced the first Valentine’s Day special collection from As Ever, her lifestyle brand. The limited edition—flavored chocolate bars made in collaboration with the Los Angeles chocolatier Compartés—quickly sold out.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are enjoying their romance in sunny Montecito, far from England where they married in 2018. Their wedding was celebrated at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, attended by the entire royal family, including Queen Elizabeth II . The couple experienced royal life for two years before stepping back from their duties and moving to the United States in 2020. They returned together for the last time in September 2022 to attend the Queen’s funeral.
