Halle Berry, never one to shy away from honesty, has shared a clear boundary she upholds in her love life: she refuses to fake orgasms.
The 59-year-old Oscar-winning actress, who is engaged to musician Van Hunt after dating since 2020, spoke candidly about intimacy and mutual satisfaction on the Sex With Emily podcast. She explained, “I don’t do that anymore. We had to say we did it so he would feel good about himself. But what is that doing? That’s putting his needs before our own. I’m like, ‘No, I come first like you come first to you.’”
Berry stressed that physical intimacy should be fulfilling for both partners, saying, “We both deserve to have this be a mutually enjoyable experience, so we can both roll over and go to sleep feeling good — not one snoring and the other staring at the ceiling, going, ‘What the hell?’”

A Love Beyond Physical Chemistry
Berry’s relationship with Hunt goes far deeper than the bedroom. They first connected online during quarantine in 2020 and went public that September, with Berry proudly sharing a photo in his tour merchandise. She has called him “the love of [her] life” and described their bond as transformative.
In a 2024 interview with Marie Claire, she revealed, “It was the first time I was madly in love before I had sex. That has never happened to me, ever. Talk about a life-changing, beautiful experience. It was magical, just magical.”
After marriages to David Justice, Eric Benét, and Olivier Martinez, Berry feels her relationship with Hunt is entirely different. She told the Today show, “Out of the people I’ve been married to, this is the person I should have married.” Reflecting on her past, she added, “Having gone through three divorces, I finally knew what wasn’t working and I realized I was always saying to the universe what I didn’t want. So, guess what I did? I manifested what I didn’t want.”

Finding Love After Divorce
Berry explained that Hunt entered her life at the perfect moment. “If it didn’t come, I would have been fine just raising my kids,” she said. “After three divorces, you kind of go, ‘I’m just going to be alone,’ and I was ready to do that. I was done. I knew that if the right person didn’t show up for me, I’d be better off going at it alone.”
She also spoke about the transformative effect of feeling supported in a relationship. “When you’re loved and supported as a woman, everything changes,” Berry told Extra in 2021. “The day looks brighter, everything feels better. Your opportunities seem limitless.”
Berry is a mother to daughter Nahla, with ex Gabriel Aubry, and son Maceo-Robert with Martinez. Now engaged, sources say she initially hesitated at the idea of marriage again, but ultimately couldn’t deny her feelings. The couple is reportedly planning a small, intimate wedding surrounded by close friends and family — a fitting next chapter for a love story that Berry says came into her life exactly when she needed it most.
This glimpse into Berry’s personal life highlights her belief in mutual respect, emotional honesty, and the importance of self-prioritization in both love and intimacy.
