A Hollywood veteran known for her roles on Designing Women and Frasier looked nearly unrecognizable during a rare solo outing in Los Angeles’ Toluca Lake neighborhood on Sunday.
The 74-year-old actress appeared to suffer a wardrobe slip while going braless in an open lime-green jacket, worn without a top underneath. She paired the look with dark green slacks, beige slip-on sneakers, and a black crossbody bag. The Washington native kept her makeup minimal and pulled her blonde hair back with a pink clip.

She was also seen carrying a coffee mug from The Kelly Clarkson Show, which she appeared on in May 2024 to promote her latest hit series. Later in the day, she added a blue button-down shirt while walking with her 36-year-old son after the pair grabbed lunch at Sweet Salt Cafe.

The actress is Jean Smart, currently starring in Hacks. On the same day, the trailer and new images for the show’s fifth season were released, with HBO confirming it will also serve as the series’ final chapter. The upcoming season will feature returning cast members including Hannah Einbinder, Paul W. Downs, and Megan Stalter, along with a large ensemble. The story follows Deborah Vance and Ava returning to Las Vegas after false reports of Deborah’s death, determined to cement her comedic legacy. The season premieres April 9 on HBO Max, with episodes rolling out weekly before the finale on May 28.
Smart recently made headlines for debuting her new boyfriend, actor Joe Pacheco, at the 2026 Roundabout Theatre Company Gala in New York. The two appeared affectionate on the red carpet, both dressed in black. Smart wore a floor-length gown with ruffled details, while Pacheco opted for a classic suit and tie.

The actress was previously married to actor Richard Gilliland for 35 years until his sudden death from a heart condition in 2021. She has since spoken about the loss, calling it “indescribable” and admitting it took time to accept the reality. The couple shared two sons, Connor and Forrest.
At the Golden Globes in January, Smart publicly thanked Pacheco while accepting her second award for Hacks, expressing gratitude for the strong support system around her.

Smart first rose to fame as Charlene Frazier Stillfield on Designing Women (1986–1991), later appearing on Frasier as Lana Gardner and starring in Samantha Who?. Her extensive TV credits also include 24, Fargo, Watchmen, Mare of Easttown, and Legion, while her film work spans Sweet Home Alabama, Garden State, The Accountant, A Simple Favor, and Babylon.
