Soap legend Susan Lucci, 79, shows off her age-defying beauty as she steps out in New York

Soap icon Susan Lucci proved she still has star power to spare as she stepped out in New York City, showcasing her remarkably youthful appearance at 79. The longtime All My Children favorite turned heads while arriving for a taping of The Drew Barrymore Show on Monday.

Lucci opted for a simple but chic look, pairing fitted leggings with a bright yellow top that flowed loosely at the waist. She elevated the outfit with sleek Christian Dior stilettos, accessorizing with a gray Birkin handbag and oversized sunglasses. Braving the windy weather, the actress wrapped herself in a voluminous Moncler puffer jacket reportedly worth around $3,600.

While best known for her decades in daytime television, Lucci is preparing for a new film role in the Apple TV+ black comedy Outcome, written and directed by Jonah Hill. The movie follows an actor being blackmailed while attempting to stay sober and features a star-studded cast including Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz, Matt Bomer, and David Spade.

Later, Lucci changed into a strapless blue gown for the film’s premiere. The figure-hugging dress, adorned with pink floral accents, highlighted her elegant silhouette and drew admiration from onlookers.

Earlier this year, the actress also opened up about the grief she continues to experience following the death of her husband of 52 years, Helmut Huber, who passed away in 2022 at age 84 after suffering a stroke. Lucci admitted she still feels waves of sadness and described holidays as particularly difficult, when his absence is most noticeable. She shared that she misses everything about him — from their morning coffee rituals to simply having him by her side.

The couple met while working at a hotel and became engaged just three weeks later, marrying in 1969. Huber later managed much of Lucci’s career and served as CEO of their production company. Lucci famously portrayed Erica Kane on All My Children from 1970 until the show ended in 2011, cementing her legacy as one of soap opera’s most memorable stars, with additional roles in Dallas, Hot in Cleveland, and Devious Maids.
