Ben Affleck ‘surrenders his share of $61m marital mansion’ to ex Jennifer Lopez two years after shock split

Ben Affleck has reportedly taken a major step in settling post-divorce matters with Jennifer Lopez, with legal documents indicating he has relinquished his stake in their shared Beverly Hills mansion, valued at around $61 million.

The former couple purchased the sprawling estate in May 2023 for $60.85 million and initially put it on the market in July 2024, only months before Lopez filed for divorce. The listing saw several price reductions and periods off the market amid ongoing efforts to secure a buyer.

According to court filings obtained on April 9, the pair updated their January 2025 divorce settlement with a new “stipulation and order” revising certain financial terms tied to the property. While much of the agreement remains unchanged, the documents state that Lopez will now assume full responsibility for all costs connected to any future sale of the home, including commissions, taxes, and closing fees.

The paperwork also confirms that a future transfer of ownership is expected, though no timeline has been set for when the property will be relisted. Lopez signed the revised agreement on March 31, followed by Affleck on April 1, suggesting he has formally stepped away from his ownership interest.

Sources told TMZ that Affleck effectively “gave up” his share of the mansion at no cost, leaving Lopez entitled to any eventual profit from the sale.

The 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom Beverly Crest estate was removed from the market in January after more than a year of unsuccessful attempts to sell. Around that time, moving trucks were spotted at the property, though it remains unclear what was being moved.

Originally listed for $68 million—above the couple’s purchase price—the home struggled to attract buyers despite multiple price cuts, including a drop to $52 million before being taken off the market again.

Insiders previously said Affleck was eager to finalize the sale to fully separate his financial ties from Lopez. Since then, both stars have moved on with new homes: Affleck purchased a $20 million property in Pacific Palisades in 2024, while Lopez bought a $21 million estate in Calabasas in 2025.

Although Lopez has secured her new residence, she has reportedly continued staying at the Beverly Hills mansion while renovations on her new home are completed.

Lopez filed for divorce on their second wedding anniversary in August 2024. Affleck shares three children with Jennifer Garner, while Lopez has twins with Marc Anthony.
