George Clooney and Amal Clooney recently gave fans a rare glimpse into their parenting dynamic while discussing the advice they share with their eight-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.
Speaking to British Vogue on the red carpet at the The King’s Trust Celebration held at Royal Albert Hall, the couple revealed that their parenting styles could not be more different.

George, known for his humor, joked that one of the most important lessons for the children was: “Don’t mix grain and grape,” referring to alcohol. Amal, meanwhile, took a more thoughtful approach, explaining that she hopes their children remain curious, ask questions, and challenge ideas that do not make sense to them — especially in today’s complicated world.
The playful exchange continued as George teased that his wife always provides the elegant answers while he handles the “important” advice. Amal laughed and added that when it comes to drinks, the twins should probably ask their father.
The Hollywood star and the international human rights lawyer married in 2014 during a lavish ceremony at the Aman Venice. Amal wore a stunning off-the-shoulder gown designed by Oscar de la Renta, while the ceremony itself was officiated by former Rome mayor Walter Veltroni. Their twins, Alexander and Ella, arrived three years later in 2017.

During the same interview, Amal also shared details about surprising George for his recent birthday. She revealed that she secretly arranged for several of his friends to appear for the celebration. George joked that surprising someone at 65 can be risky, laughing that the shock alone could have finished him off.
For the glamorous evening, Amal drew attention in a striking archival gown by Alexander McQueen from the label’s autumn/winter 2007 collection, “In Memory of Elizabeth Howe.” The shimmering gold dress featured a deep V-neckline, cap sleeves, and intricate sequin detailing throughout. She completed the look with matching heels, gold jewelry, and a metallic clutch.

The gown has its own fashion history, having previously been worn by Cameron Diaz at the Tokyo premiere of Shrek the Third in 2007. Following the death of designer Alexander McQueen, the piece later sold at auction and resurfaced again at a Sotheby’s Fashion Icons sale in 2024, where it reportedly fetched $114,000.
