An artist passionate about sustainable and creative living has transformed an old bus into a cozy little home.
Chelsea calls it the “Forest Bus Shelter Home,” a project she created to live frugally while pursuing her art.

An old Mercedes bus located in the forest has been transformed into a cozy, nature-inspired home. It is painted in a shade of green that blends harmoniously with the surroundings.
Chelsea has been living on the bus for several years now after experiencing life on a smaller bus. The transition to bus living has allowed her to slow down and devote herself entirely to her art.
The total cost of converting the bus into a tiny home was between $10,000 and $13,000, which demonstrates Chelsea’s patience and ingenuity in finding the right materials for her home.

Chelsea found the 11-meter Mercedes Nambucca bus after a long search on Marketplace. She was attracted by the double doors and panoramic windows, which give the bus a unique charm.
Converting the bus into a home was a DIY project that Chelsea learned a lot from, with friends and family helping her with more complex tasks like carpentry and plumbing.

Chelsea has made sure to retain some of the bus’s original features, such as the dashboard and hand-held lights, to pay homage to its history.
The outside area serves as a relaxation area where she can receive guests or work while enjoying nature.
Chelsea’s bus is connected to electricity and water, but she plans to explore off-grid options in the future.

Inside, Chelsea created an eclectic space decorated with handmade items she’s collected over time.
