Jia Sarnicola and Zuri Copeland are two six-year-olds who are very close, but if anyone asks, they’re not best friends–these two honestly believe they’re twins.
Jia’s mother, Ashley Sarnicola, told BuzzFeed News that the girls met when they were three years old at their Miami school, hit it off right away, and have been best friends ever since.
When the media first met these extraordinary souls, they were four years old and closest friends, but as they’ve gotten older, their link has grown deeper, and they now claim to be twins.
“They will tell you that they are twins and they have a long list of reasons why to back it up,” Ashley told me.

An older kid told them they couldn’t be twins because they don’t have the same skin color…Jia broke down and said, “You don’t know what you are talking about… we are twins because we share the same soul.”

The girls claim their birthdays are almost the same day. They also emphasize physical similarities, with Jia claiming they are the same height and insisting on matching attire.
The girls’ birthdays are on June 3 and 5, and they’ve held joint festivities over the years.
This beautiful couple shares similar personality qualities.
“[They have] the same vibrant energy, intelligence, heart to take care of others, and both [are] extremely vocal about their needs,” Ashley told me.
“We have always taught the girls that being different is cool, and to make friends with new people every day,” she laughed. “In their class at school, there are six different languages between the 15 kids.”

She stated that Jia told her that “she wishes she had chocolate-colored skin like Zuri because she prefers chocolate over vanilla.”
The girls’ mothers, who have also become close friends, expressed concerns about society taking over and dictating how they feel about one another.
Unfortunately, this has already occurred when the girls were at a birthday party and an older child informed them that they could not be twins because they did not have the same skin color.
The harsh insult made Jia cry, yet despite her emotions, she managed to answer with this killer line.
She replied, “You don’t know what you’re talking about. “We are twins because we have the same soul.”

Zuri’s 23-year-old sister, Victoria Williams, was so moved by her reaction that she posted the conversation on Twitter, bringing everyone on board. It was a fantastic reminder of what is truly important in life.
Zuri’s mom Valencia said she hopes nothing ever comes between these two.
“We have a lot to learn, and we can learn from children,” Valencia stated, according to CBS News.
We can all learn a lot from this touching narrative of love and acceptance. I hope their friendship is so strong that it cannot be broken; they are an inspiration. Kindly share.
