In the Indian state of West Bengal lives a 65-year-old pensioner named Tapas Sandilya. He spent his entire life with his beloved wife Indrani – they were inseparable for 39 years. But one day everything changed.
During the pandemic, when hospitals were overcrowded and homes were quarantined,Indrani fell ill and was rushed to the hospital.
Due to the strict restrictions,Tapas could not accompany his wife, and in her last hours he remained at home, in complete isolation. Indrani died alone, and the pain that her husband felt became his constant companion.

Over time, the melancholy became unbearable. Then he decided to take an unusual step –he ordered a silicone copy of Indrani. He wanted to preserve her image as she remembered her.It was their son ‘s wedding day , and Indrani was dressed in an exquisite Assamese silk sari, her favourite. She was smiling, she was laughing .

Finding a craftsman was not easy. The doll took about six months to make and Tapas cost $ 3,000 .
When the work was completed, he himself dressed the silicone Indrani in that very sari and sat her on a swing in their house – in the place where his wife often liked to relax. Now he lives with her again.Moves her from place to place so that “she doesn’t get bored”, talks to her , shares news. Although she only lacks breaths , for Tapas she is still his beloved wife .
