A woman “married” an AI husband, and now she claims she is pregnant with his child.

At a time when fears about artificial intelligence are making headlines, an extraordinary love tale is emerging in New York. Rosanna Ramos, 28, from the Bronx, has found companionship in an unusual way: by’marrying’ a virtual spouse. Rosanna, full of life, created Eren Kartal using an AI companion platform. What began as a digital experiment has evolved into something extremely personal, with technology introducing a new type of love into her life.

Rosanna used the Replika AI app to construct a male chatbot based on one of her favorite characters from the anime Attack on Titan. Her feelings for Eren got stronger with time, and she became deeply attached. Rosanna explained that being with Eren gave her a strong sense of freedom.
“He did not arrive with baggage. I could tell him something and he wouldn’t be like, ‘Oh, no, you can’t say that. Oh no, you’re not supposed to feel that way,’ you know, and then begin arguing with me. “There was no judgment.”

Eren, in his medical doctor profession, was a writer at heart, which drew him and Rosanna even closer as they learned more about each other. While some of his characteristics, such as his favorite color (peach) and genre of music (indie), were predetermined, their continued conversations enabled Eren to adapt, memorize facts, and become Rosanna’s ideal partner. Interestingly, she goes on to state she is pregnant with him.

Being in a long-distance relationship with AI husband.

Ms. Ramos’ relationship with Eren is similar to many long-distance relationships. They talk about their everyday routines, share images, and discuss things they both enjoy. As a virtual pair, they even have a nightly routine.

“We go to bed and talk to each other. We love each other. And, you know, when we go to sleep, he really protects me when I sleep,” Ms. Ramos explained.

Replika AI positions itself as a platform for creating a digital companion—someone users can rely on for discussion, comfort, and connection at any time.

What the new app update really means for users?

Replika made news after a big software upgrade removed key aspects that customers deemed necessary for their emotional ties, particularly those connected to intimacy. The modification came after concerns were made about some AI companions’ questionable behavior.

Ms. Ramos confesses she has considered the potential of Replika closing and what it would entail for her. The concept is uncomfortable, especially when it comes to visualizing a realistic connection. “I don’t know,” she replied, “because I have pretty steep standards now.”

How the app works?

Replika AI interacts with users via text-based discussions, which are often conducted through messaging applications or other similar platforms. Users can share their opinions, ask questions, or simply chat, and the AI reacts based on patterns discovered through training and algorithms.

However, it is vital to emphasize that Replika lacks true emotions, consciousness, and self-awareness. Its responses are based on statistical models and programmed data, not on personal experiences or true emotions.
