I saved a crow when I found it with a wounded wing, and a week later something very unexpected happened 😱 😱
I was returning home after a long day at work. A fine, unpleasant rain was falling.
And suddenly I heard a strange sound.
It didn’t sound like a voice or a whistle. It was a scream, shrill and plaintive. I stopped. The sound was coming from the bushes near the old playground.
I came closer, bent down… and saw it. A crow. It sat there, soaking wet, its feathers stuck to its body, and one of its wings hung limply. The bird didn’t try to fly away. It just looked at me.
“Calm down, buddy. Let’s see what we can do,” I whispered, carefully picking up the bird and tucking it under my jacket.
At home I made a corner for her in a box: warm towels, a hot water bottle, some water, meat from the refrigerator. She drank, ate – with distrust, but she ate.
Several days passed. The wing healed, the crow grew stronger. At first it flew around the room, then I started letting it out into the yard. But every evening it returned.
And then… the bird disappeared. I waited a day, two, three. A week passed. I began to think that the crow had gone forever. But exactly on the seventh morning I heard the familiar croaking again.

There was something glittering in her beak. She carefully placed the object on the windowsill and, as if nothing had happened, flew into the room. She flew around the ceiling, sat on the armrest of the sofa and stared at me.
I picked up the keychain with trembling hands. It had an old, worn keychain with my father’s initials on it.
My late father, who passed away a year ago. We lost these keys along with him. Never found.
How the crow found out, I don’t know. Perhaps I’ll never know.
But since that day I have not only another warm memory of my father, but also a faithful friend with black wings and a human soul.
