Jeanne Covey from “My 600-lb Life” – Where Is She Now?

Joining My 600-lb Life demands immense courage and vulnerability. Participants must confront painful memories and reveal the roots of their struggles with food, making the process emotionally intense.

Season 7 introduced Texas native Jeanne Covey, who weighed around 600 pounds and lived with her beloved dogs. Her health was considered critical, and viewers feared for her well-being. Tragically, an unexpected event during her time on the show forced her to leave, making her story one of the most unforgettable and heartbreaking in the series.

A Challenging Childhood
Jeanne’s weight issues began early. Raised by her grandmother, who treated her harshly, Jeanne started sneaking sweets at age five as a form of rebellion. This coping mechanism eventually turned into a lifelong struggle with food. By age 40, her weight had reached 700 pounds, putting her in serious danger.

Dependence on Family
Living at home, Jeanne relied entirely on her parents for care. Their house was in poor condition, and her mother Barbara often assisted with basic hygiene. Despite taking Jeanne to doctors, nothing seemed to help.

Close to Dr. Younan Nowzaradan’s Houston clinic, Jeanne sought his guidance. Initially, she tried to prepare by reducing her food intake. Dr. Now emphasized that surgery alone wouldn’t solve her issues and encouraged lifestyle changes alongside weight loss before qualifying for gastric bypass.

Tragedy Strikes
As Jeanne started making progress, her mother needed surgery. During that time, they learned her father had tragically passed away at home. Grieving and concerned about leaving her dogs, Jeanne decided not to return to Houston. She became the first patient unable to complete Dr. Now’s program but managed to lose 32 pounds before leaving.

Life After the Show
Though no longer on the show, Jeanne kept fans updated via a Facebook page. By August 2020, she had reduced her weight to 388 pounds and reported feeling healthier and more active. Since then, she moved to Arkansas with her mom and their dogs, hinted at a new romantic relationship, and embraced a fresh chapter in life.

Today, Jeanne’s journey reflects not only significant weight loss but also resilience, happiness, and renewed hope, inspiring those who have followed her story.
