I want to share with you a story that gave me chills… and maybe it can save you too.
One evening, returning late from work, I was driving along a deserted road surrounded by fields.
It was dark, the radio was hissing softly, and I just wanted to get home.
And suddenly in the distance I noticed an abandoned baby carriage at the side of the road. My heart sank.
Who could leave a child there in the middle of the night?

My first reaction was to slow down. I was about to turn on the hazard lights.
But something stopped me. An inner voice whispered: “What if this is a trap?”
That night I didn’t stop. But when I got home I started looking for information. And what I learned shocked me.
It turns out that in some regions, an “abandoned stroller” is a trick used by criminals to lure drivers.
They rely on our human instinct to protect, to help a child in need. Someone stops or gets out of the car… and they appear. Robbery, assault… and sometimes worse.

This is not an urban legend. I read a story from a woman who almost fell for this trick. She shared her story on social media to warn others — and I completely understand her.
Today I understand that I was just lucky. And now I want to warn as many people as possible.
You can’t always tell what’s true and what’s not. But it’s better to call the police than to take unnecessary risks.
The sad truth is that some people are not afraid to exploit our compassion.

And while it pains me to think that a child in trouble might be left without help, I also know that my own safety is a priority.
So if you see something suspicious, especially at night: stay in the car, lock the doors and call emergency services.
