While carelessly rummaging around the kitchen, I came across a small find that completely shocked me.
Their dark brown color and smooth texture, almost too perfect, initially made me think that they were something… completely abnormal.
“What is this?!” I thought. My first thought was that these were the remains of insects.
Capsules, perhaps abandoned eggs or, worse… the cocoons of a small animal, something hidden, dangerous.
These little structures, so well formed, with their clear appearance, plunged me into deep doubt. It was too strange to be natural. Something inside me told me that I was confronted with a much more sinister mystery than a simple seed.
“Insects? Larvae? Or is this a natural trap?” I wasn’t at all sure what was in front of me.
But I had to find out what it was. My curiosity made me move on… and what I found exceeded all my expectations.

After some research, I discovered that these were the seeds of the Cape Bean (Phaseolus lunatus), a legume with many health benefits that is native to Africa but grown all over the world.
Often used in traditional cuisine, these small seeds are a treasure trove of nutrients!
They are rich in proteins, fiber and minerals, and their mild flavor makes them ideal for enriching our dishes.
But that’s not all… They are also used in traditional medicines, which makes them even more exciting.
But be careful, it’s not that simple! ❗ Some of these seeds can be toxic if not prepared correctly.
Their safe use requires special skill.

And this is where the magic of cooking comes in: a real culinary art that needs to be mastered to enjoy all the benefits of these natural treasures!
Ultimately, these seeds, which at first glance seem so simple, hide a rich history of traditions and secrets.
And they can be a real health booster if you handle them properly. Who would have thought that my discovery in the kitchen would lead me to such knowledge?
