Krzysztof Kopeć, a civil engineer from Lubaczów, Poland, discovered that his 80-year-old grandmother, Aniela, was living in a tiny, crumbling house deep in the woods, lacking both electricity and running water. Despite her hardships, Aniela survived with the help of social aid, receiving food, clothing, and basic necessities. Krzysztof and his wife, determined to improve her life, began planning a renovation that would turn her run-down home into a safe and comfortable space.

The couple utilized their professional expertise—Krzysztof in civil engineering and his wife in architecture—to design a complete overhaul. They reached out to social media, sharing Aniela’s story and seeking financial support. Their call for help resonated with people from across Poland and even other countries, resulting in a remarkable outpouring of generosity. Volunteers and donors contributed resources, labor, and essential items, creating a community effort that brought the project to life.

In just five days, the team insulated walls, replaced the roof and flooring, renovated the exterior, installed new tiles, and added necessary furniture. Volunteers also supplied clothing, food, and cleaning materials, ensuring Aniela’s home was not only livable but welcoming. Since she moved out during the renovation, workers were able to complete the transformation quickly and efficiently.

When Aniela returned, she was overwhelmed with emotion at the sight of her revitalized home, scarcely believing the transformation. Thanks to Krzysztof, his wife, and the countless helpers, Aniela now has a modern, safe house and a loving family network. Over the past year, she has grown close to the Kopeć family, who visit her frequently. Once an isolated woman living in hardship, Aniela now enjoys a secure home filled with care, kindness, and warmth.
