Kate Middleton’s former aide Natasha Archer is opening up about the realities of her long career inside the royal household and the part of the job she found “quite frustrating.”
Archer recently left her position at Kensington Palace after 15 years of service, a departure first confirmed in 2025. During her time working closely with the Princess of Wales, she played a key behind-the-scenes role in shaping Kate’s public image, including helping coordinate some of her most widely discussed outfits — from the blue Jenny Packham dress worn when Prince George was introduced to the world in 2013 to ensembles used during official visits such as the 2019 trip to Pakistan.
However, Archer says her responsibilities extended far beyond fashion. In a recent interview with The Telegraph, she explained that being labeled simply as a “stylist” didn’t reflect the full scope of her work. She described the role as far more complex, involving logistical support, organisation, and providing steady assistance in high-pressure environments. “It’s quite frustrating,” she said of the stylist label, adding that she was often managing everything from scheduling to general day-to-day support rather than focusing solely on clothing choices.
As she transitions into a new phase of her career, Archer has launched her own luxury consulting business, offering highly personalised support to clients with demanding lifestyles. She described her work as a blend of practical assistance and emotional steadiness, helping people prepare for major life events, public appearances, or professional milestones where confidence and presentation are key.
Reflecting on her time within the royal household, Archer said the experience was deeply meaningful and something she will always value. She described working for the Prince and Princess of Wales as an “extraordinary privilege,” adding that she formed lasting friendships and learned valuable lessons about preparation, discretion, and consistency under pressure.
Since her departure, sources have indicated that both the Prince and Princess of Wales wished her well in her next chapter. It has also been noted that Kate Middleton remains heavily involved in selecting her own wardrobe for official engagements and is now considered highly confident in her personal style decisions.
