Harry commented on the situation through his representative.
Last year, Prince Harry and Prince Siso of Lesotho unexpectedly resigned as trustees of Sentebale, the charity they founded in 2026 in memory of their late mothers. The reason was a conflict with its chair, Sophie Chandauka. But that wasn’t the end of it. It turns out the charity is now suing its former co-founders for defamation. The documents have already been filed.
Sentebale has commenced legal proceedings in the High Court of England and Wales, the aggrieved party said in a statement. The charity seeks judicial intervention, protection, and compensation following a coordinated media campaign against it, which has been ongoing since March 25, 2025, and which has damaged the work and reputation of the organization, its management, and its strategic partners.

The lawsuit was brought against Prince Harry and his friend and fellow Sentebale co-founder Mark Dyer, who are alleged to be “the masterminds of a widespread negative media campaign that has led to a barrage of cyberbullying against the charity and its leadership.”
Harry and Mark responded to the allegations in a statement released last night through Harry’s representative.
“As co-founders and trustees of Sentebale, they categorically reject these offensive and defamatory statements,” the statement reads. “It is inconceivable that charitable funds are now being used to pursue legal action against the very people who built and supported the organization for nearly two decades, instead of being used to serve the communities for which the charity was established.”
For its part, Sentebale stated that no charitable funds were used for the legal proceedings.
All expenses are covered by external funding; no charitable funds were used, the organization said in a statement.
